The most total disappointment on material and free spirit

June 11, 2023 I never understood why Free was so popular. I tried to get an idea: it’s the cat! Anemic wifi, shabby flow, BOXTV remote control which does not work when 1 meter moves away, boxes to reboot 2 times a day. Free is zero! In addition, customer service is not there to solve box problems but to sell more options, or merchandising. At Free, the customer equal to + potential profit. I expected better.

September 7, 2022 sincerely, I expected better from Free. The commissioning and use of this device (Mini Player 4K V2) is quite annoying, see painful in use. In general, I am not a fan of Android TV boxes and all the Bloatwares that accompany them. The least we can say is that this TV box is no exception to the rule … There are inexplicable latency times, it freeze or it crashes during trivial handles, as for example during the removal of ‘An app (which will also reinstall itself dry during the next restart). In short, I come to regret owner -type user interfaces. It was the good old days. Better to add a “real boxtv” if you want to watch movies in H264/H265.Regarding the article itself, I think there is a shell. With a USB or other formatted device in FAT16 or FAT32 you can copy and therefore read files up to exactly 4 294 967 295 bytes (4 GB-1 byte) and not just 2 go. Pure camera

On December 7, 2021 after years abroad I came back to France and I was happy to resume a freebox after very good memories of my freebox revolution when it was launched.First observation: it is a hell of a bazaar on paper ! 4 different boxes with endless comparative tables.. I want internet and TV, it seems quite simple no ?I go to the mini 4K which seems to be the entry -level model. No more need, I am not a gamer and I do not need 3000 channels..And there. The disappointments are linked. Already when starting it is a hassle to associate the remote control, it ends with walking in the 5th attempt. Then the TV: I have the fiber, I live in the city center, and despite that, the freeze TV constant. Impossible to watch an entire program without having the image that pixes in mosaic every 10 minutes. The remote control raises so much that she seems to even walk, it reacts after 5 seconds each time. Even the technical service technician advised me to use a mobile app as a remote control instead of the one provided.I spent 1/2 hour with an excellent after-sales service technician, who made me modify a bunch of setings in wifi, box, canals, and explained to me that the remote control is a sub-sub-control product. Since then, it’s less worse than catastrophic, but always intolerable.In my second home at the bottom of the mountain, I have a poor Adsl low cost from Red and it works 10 times better.We feel that Free tried to counter the conclusion. Free deletes the Freebox Mini 4K from its offers

It is time to say goodbye to the Freebox Mini 4K of Free. This Thursday, November 3, the Télécoms troublemaker withdrew him from his site and his eligibility test.

It was the very first Android box by Free which was launched in March 2015. It was also the operator’s most affordable internet offer, billed only € 15.99 per month the first year, then € 34.99 per month.

Only the Bbox Fit de Bouygues Telecom offers a similar promotional rate today, and well below the competition. The other operators offer entry -level internet boxes around 18 and 20 euros, such as Sosh, Red by SFR and SFR.

Goodbye the mini 4K

In October 2020, Free had already withdrawn the Freebox Mini 4K from its site for a first time, before putting it back a few weeks later. And last year, its promotional rate increased by 1 euro to increase to 15.99 euros, price applied until today.

But from this Thursday, November 3, the mini 4K seems to leave the telecoms market definitively, after 7 years of good and loyal service. Thus, the Freebox Revolution becomes the cheapest internet offer in Free at € 19.99 per month per first year, then € 44.99 per month (commitment 12 months).

By subscribing to this freebox, you are committed for a period of 12 months and benefit from unlimited calls to fixed and mobiles in France and in the DOM as well as to fixes of more than 100 destinations. In optical fiber, you benefit from a maximum drop -down flow of 1 Gb/s and maximum amount of 600 Mbit/s.
