All about battery rental on Renault Zoe
An electric car would be nothing without battery, this central element that stores energy and therefore is one of the determining factors in the level of autonomy. Renault Zoe, pioneer of the electric, offers two acquisition modes: full purchase and battery rental.
Buy or rent a battery for your electric car ?
When buying a used electric vehicle, the future owner can be offered two options: either rent the battery or buy it with the car. A choice that must be weighed well, the battery being one of the most expensive components of an electric car.
Buying your battery is the simplest and most economical formula for drivers who provide high mileage. In the event of purchase, the Renault Zoe battery is guaranteed over a period of 8 years or over a distance of 160,000 km. For Kangoo Z.E. and Master Z.E., This warranty relates to a period of 5 years or 100,000 km.
The battery rental allows the driver to distribute the cost of the battery over time, the package adapting to your annual mileage. It also offers a battery warranty for lifetime in the event of a decrease in capacity* and assistance all breakdowns, including energy failure.
In addition, know that it is possible to buy the battery at any time.

Rental of batteries on an electric car: a price range for all uses
If you have therefore opted for battery rental, various packages are offered according to the annual mileage envisaged.
For example, the Z package.E. Flex starts at 69 euros (for 7,500 km per year), at 114 euros per month (for 17,500 km per year) and the Z package.E. Relax offers unlimited mileage for 124 euros per month.
Battery insurance is necessary ?
Most insurers now take into account the specifics of electric vehicles to adapt their offer and include new covers. The rental service is thus integrated into insurance contracts: the fact that the battery belongs to the manufacturer, and the car to the driver is planned, which facilitates compensation in the event of a claim.
The insurance contract must therefore mention the battery and ensure it up to the amount registered on the rental contract. In addition, if your insurer has a specific assistance network, it is preferable to check whether the garages of it are well certified for the repair of electric vehicles.

The price of electric recharge is calculated according to the battery capacity, the ratio between the calculated autonomy and the annual mileage as well as the price of electricity observed in September 2023.
