Criteria for adding vehicles in France and conditions of access to the various services

Vehicles must be under the age of 6 and comply with the VTC regulations in force (these criteria do not apply to electric and hybrid vehicles).

The information on this page is only provided for practical purposes. All vehicles must meet the Uber criteria described on the dedicated page concerning your area and the race option indicated here (for example, Uberx Requires 5 places and 4 doors, Uberxl 7 places and 4 doors, etc.)). If a model appears in the list below, but does not comply with the requirements relating to vehicles in your area, it cannot be used there.

Note: To be accepted in the race option, each vehicle model below must date from the year indicated or be more recent. This date is generally offset by one year each year. Models accepted for Uberx are also for Uber Connect, Uber Pet And Uber Share. Models of electric and hybrid vehicles are also accepted for Uber Green. Acceptance to options Uber sedan (black), Uber Comfort, Uber Comfort Electric And Uber Premier also depends on the note awarded to the driver as well as factors such as the space available for the legs and the exterior/interior color of the vehicle. Currently, Uber select is not available for new drivers. To find out if a vehicle is accepted, contact Uber assistance or your reception area for drivers. The availability of racing options varies depending on the city.

Criteria for adding vehicles in France and conditions of access to the various services

Consult the list of vehicles accepted on Uberx and on the other options available on the Uber application in France. You will also find the vehicles we recommend to maximize your profitability.

As a reminder, progressive stages of exit from the diesel have been set to achieve our goal of zero diesel in 2024 and 50% of electric vehicles in 2025:

• 2021 : The addition of new diesel vehicles on the application, that is to say vehicles registered in 2021, is no longer possible
• 2022 : Addition of diesel vehicles, new or not, is no longer possible unless they are eligible for sedan, van or access ranges.
• 2024 :: As of December 31, 2024, no Diesel Diesel or Hybrid Hybrid Vehicle will be able to perform shopping on the application (unless they are eligible for sedan, van or access ranges)

Criteria for adding a vehicle on the platform

In accordance with the transport code, Uber checks that the type of vehicle used meets the criteria set by legislation (according to the activity carried out).

The following vehicles can be added to our platform:

Electric or hybrid vehicles:

• In accordance with VTC regulations, all models of hybrid petrol and electric vehicles are accepted
• For alternative fuels: if they are mentioned in the types of fuel eligible in the Green section (hydrogen, Superethanol, etc.)

Petrol vehicles:

• If they comply with the VTC regulations (5 to 9 places; at least 4.5 m in length; at least 1.7 m width; at least 4 doors; power of 84kw)
• If they are under 6 years old
• If they are present in the list of models in the Uberx section

Diesel vehicles and diesel hybrids (sedan, van and access only):

• If they comply with the VTC regulations (5 to 9 places; at least 4.5 m in length; at least 1.7 m width; at least 4 doors; power of 84kw)
• If they are under 6 years old

Reminder: since January 2022, The addition of hybrid diesel or diesel vehicles is no longer possible on the platform (unless they are eligible for sedan, van or access ranges, due to the few hybrid or electric models currently available for these categories).

Eligibility criteria for options available on Uber

I begin

All VTC drivers registered on the Uber platform have by default access to Uberx.

I reach 500 races and 4.75

You automatically have access to a new type of shopping, Uber for Business races. They are aimed at business clientele and are therefore on average longer and often in off -peak hours.

You can also have access to the van service if you have a suitable vehicle.

I reach 500 races and 4.85

You can access the Comfort service if you have a suitable vehicle.

I reach 1000 races and 4.85

You become an expert and can access the sedan service if you have a suitable vehicle.

Uberx and Uberx Share

Uberx and Uberx Share services are open to all VTC drivers.

Uberx Share

Uberx Share is a service to transport several customers who go in the same direction. After a few races on the Uber network, we will offer you Uberx Share races in addition to Uberx races with the same vehicle (Paris only).

Vehicles must be under the age of 6 and comply with the VTC regulations in force (these criteria do not apply to electric and hybrid vehicles).

Green

Uber Green is the service allowing passengers to be put in touch with a driving driver with a hybrid petrol or electric vehicle. Everywhere in France, we recommend that drivers choose electric or hybrid vehicles to move towards ecological transition but also minimize their daily costs. Since January 2021, Diesel hybrid vehicles are no longer allowed on this option.

The most recommended vehicles in France by drivers who have transitioned to electric:

In accordance with VTC regulations, all models of hybrid petrol and electric vehicles are accepted.

Since January 1, 2021, a plan for electric mobility has been in place to accompany drivers in this transition to electric. Concretely, drivers with a diesel or petrol vehicle accumulate 6 cents/km rolled on the application – financed in equal parts by an increase in prices and by Uber.
