Degree ?

The Degrouptest site is published by Bemove, a French company based near Rennes in Brittany. Bemove is part of the CCM Benchmark – Le Figaro group since October 2019.

What is the use of DegroupSet ?

Degrouptest provides you with all the information to understand your internet connection. With the eligibility test, you will know which operators, networks and internet offers available at your address. Very practical, the test indicates for example if your accommodation is equipped with fiber optics or ADSL. Thanks to Speed Test, you can also test the internet flow of your box or your 4G/5G package to find out the download speed of your operator.

Degrouptest: it’s also news !

Degrouptest publishes news items and files on themes close to telecoms: Internet offers, mobile telephone operators but also networks (fiber, ADSL, 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi..) or online safety (VPN / Antivirus). You can automatically receive the latest editorial publications of DegroupSet via our RSS feed.

Why do an eligibility test with degroupttest ?

The quality of an internet connection varies from one address to another for reasons of technical eligibility. All housing is not yet connected to optical fiber and several million French people must always be satisfied with an ADSL box with a slower flow rate. Degroupttest simultaneously questions French telecom operators and centralizes internet offers (with their price and debit) that they can provide you with you. You can easily compare the different subscription contracts and the types of connections offered by Orange, SFR, Free and Bouygues Telecom in particular.

Who are the operators and networks tested on degrouptest ?

Degrouptest is compatible with:

  • The ADSL and orange fiber test also used by SOSH and by alternative access providers in the case of non-degree adsl offers,
  • The ADSL, Fiber and SFR cable test (and Red by SFR),
  • Bouygues Telecom’s ADSL and fiber test,
  • Free ADSL test and fiber,
  • OVH Telecom ADSL and Fiber,
  • The fiber optical test of public initiative networks (altitude, axione, covage, TDF, etc.).

Is a degreptest application available ?

Degrouptest is a “responsive” website designed for both computers and smartphones. There is no degree application on the Apple Store (iOS) or on the Google Play Store (Android). We do not have the utility since all our services are perfectly usable on your smartphone or tablet from the Internet.

Our team of experts welcomes you from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free service without commitment.

ADSL or fiber: what difference ?

adsl or fiber what differences

Allowing you to access the Internet in high speed, the ADSL and the fiber have many differences. Technology, flows, coverage, packages. Here is our comparison.

ADSL or fiber: two different technologies

The first thing that distinguishes adsl fiber is the technology used. Marketed in France since 1999, ADSL is based on copper wires of the traditional telephone network to transport digital data. This has a major advantage: as soon as the telephone central in a neighborhood or a town is connected to the Internet, all the accommodation that depends on it and which have a fixed telephone line can have access to the Internet. Optical fiber is absolutely not based on the telephone network. It uses a glass or plastic line capable of driving light to transport the digital signal.

Decuplected flows thanks to the fiber

Arriving in French homes at the end of the 2000s, ADSL allowed access to high speed internet: in general, between 1 and 15 megabits per second (MB/) for download, and between 0.5 Mb/s and 1 Mb/s sending data. A variable flow depending on the quality of the telephone line, the distance between the box from the telephone central, or the type of connection chosen (Ethernet cable or WiFi). This average flow is however faster on the ADSL 2+, VDSL or VDSL 2 lines, three technologies derived from ADSL up to 100 Mb/s for the shortest VDSL lines). In addition, the ADSL is asymmetrical: the upward speed (data emission) is lower than the downhill flow (data reception). Thanks to its glass or plastic wire, the fiber optics provides much faster flows than ADSL. At Bouygues Telecom, the connection speed can this time reach up to 2 gigabits per second (GB/S) in data reception, and up to 900 Mb/s sharing data. Downloading the movie of your vacation or sending a photo album takes only a few seconds, watching ultra high definition television becomes possible, playing in a network is done with maximum fluidity and responsiveness. Another advantage: the signal is not sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances, and does not fade according to the distance which separates the box from the connection node located in the town or in the district. In other words, whether you are 100 meters or 500 meters from this technical room, your flow will be significantly the same.
