Send AnyWhere is a simple and free data sharing service. You can use it via your computer through downloading the Desktop application (under Windows from version 7, Mac and Linux Debian and Ubuntu) or specific extensions (Chromium, Whale, Outlook, WordPress), via the online service accessible from any internet browser or with mobile applications for smartphone and tablet under Android or iOS (iPhone, iPad).

Send AnyWhere offers two separate data transfer types: WiFi direct for two devices close to each other (mobile devices under Android), and transfer via the Internet (from any device to any device). Clear and intuitive (although in English), its web interface allows you to make a new sharing in a few clicks.

How to send your files via wifi direct ?

The data transfer mode in WiFi Direct is only available for mobile devices under Android system. This is the direct transfer of files from one device to another via a direct WiFi connection. For this it is necessary that the two devices are close to each other.

On the device that sends the files you must activate the WiFi direct mode via the button located at the top of the screen. Your interface will then go into dark mode (from white to black). Then just select the files to be sent and then click on the Send button at the bottom of the screen. The application then generates a QR code.

Scan the QR code with Send AnyWhere on the destination device to start the transfer (the QR code scanner is activated via the receive screen). WiFi must be activated on the second device. To make the connection between the two devices, Send Anywhere creates a WiFi access point on the first device, the QR code contains all the connection and transfer information for the second device. Remember to deactivate the WiFi direct once the transfer is finished.

How to send files from and to any device ?

Two transfer solutions exist according to your need. The first is the transfer from one device to another. The second is the transfer of file to multiple users.

In the case of a transfer 1: 1, that is to say to a single device, Send Anywhere creates a 6-character transfer key (6-Digit Key) to protect data transfer (which is encrypted). This key is like a password that the device that must receive the files must provide to activate the download. Please note, because this key is only valid for 10 minutes, also note that if you use this method the files are not stored on the servers of Send AnyWhere.

You can also decide to make your data available to more than one user. To do this, simply use the transfer link generated at the same time as the key. Copy the link and send it to each of the contacts you want to send your files. The use of the link makes the key useless. In this case of transfer, the files are stored on the servers of Send AnyWhere. Send AnyWhere then offers its users to store up to 10 GB of data for a limited period (48 hours), the data is encrypted during the transfer and on the server, it is automatically deleted after 48 hours.

To send your files, you must select them and then click on the Send button at the bottom of the screen. To receive the files click on the receive button, you will then be asked for the transfer key. A transfers history is available on each of the devices.
