Product status messages

The information you need to diagnose and solve most common problems is provided to you by the troubleshooting utility, the control panel or the Status Monitor utility. Refer to the appropriate section below.

Diagnosis of problems

Two steps are necessary for the optimal troubleshooting of printer problems: start by identifying the problem, then apply suitable solutions until the problem is solved.

The information you need to diagnose and solve most common problems is provided to you by the troubleshooting utility, the control panel or the Status Monitor utility. Refer to the appropriate section below.

If you encounter a specific problem regarding print quality, an impression problem not linked to quality, a paper supply problem, or if the printer does not print at all, refer to the Adapted section.

To solve a problem, you may have to cancel the printing.

Error lights

You can identify most of the current printer problems using its lights. If the printer stop working and the lights are on or flash, see the table to identify the problem and follow the recommended correction measures.

Problem and solution
No loaded paper.

Load paper in the sheet sheet tray and press the key . The seer goes out and the print resumes.

Training of several pages both
Several pages are trained both.

Load paper in the sheet sheet tray and press the key to resume printing.

Paper is stuck in the printer.
Empty ink cartridge
An ink cartridge is empty or is not installed.

Replace the cartridge. If the light remains on after replacing the ink cartridge, it may not be installed correctly. Reinsert the ink cartridge until a click confirms its implementation.

Bad ink cartridge
The installed ink cartridge is not compatible with the printer.

Replace the ink cartridge incompatible with a suitable cartridge.

Incorrectly installed ink cartridge
An ink cartridge is not installed correctly.
An ink cartridge is almost empty.

Get a replacement ink cartridge. Check the condition of the ink cartridges to determine which will soon be empty.

Alternately flash
Printer ink pastilles arrive at the end of life.

Contact Epson technical support to replace them.
If the printer ink pastiles arrive at the end of life, press the key to resume printing.

Unknown printer error
An unknown printer error occurred.
Put the out of course printer. Then remove the stuck paper.

Finally, put the printer under tension. Contact your dealer if the error persists.
Recovery mode
The firmware update has failed and the printer is in recovery mode.

You must reinstall the firmware update. Prepare a USB cable and visit the assistance section of the Epson website in your country for more instructions.

Printer statement

In the event of a problem during printing, an error message appears in the Status Monitor window.

If an error message indicating that the printer ink stamps are almost at the end of life is displayed, contact Epson assistance to replace them. The message is displayed at regular intervals until the ink pads are replaced. When the printer ink stamps are saturated, the printer stops working and Epson’s intervention is necessary to continue printing.

Under windows

The order in which the cartridges are listed depends on the printer.
You can access the Epson Status Monitor 3 utility in two ways:

Double-click the printer shortcut icon in the Taskbar (taskbar) of Windows.
To add a Taskbar shortcut icon (taskbar) from Windows, see the section from the Taskbar shortcut icon (task bar).

Open the printing driver, click on the tab Maintenance (utility), Then on the button Epson Status Monitor 3.

Current state:
When the ink level is low or when the cartridge is empty, the button How to (how to do) is displayed in the Epson Status Monitor 3 window. Click on this button How to (how to do) To display the cartridge replacement instructions and place the print head in the cartridge replacement position.

Ink Levels (ink levels) ::
Epson Status Monitor 3 provides a graphic display of the ink cartridge condition.

Information ::
You can display information relating to ink cartridges installed by clicking on Information.

Technical support (technical support) ::
Click on Technical support (technical support) To access the present manual.

Print tail (queue) ::
You can display the Windows Spoal (Windows speaker) by clicking on Print tail (queue).

Product state messages

You can often diagnose your product’s problems by checking the messages displayed on the ACL screen. You can also press the help button to access help information and screen instructions.

– The connection between the printer and the computer (USB or network)

Select USBXXX for a USB connection, or Epsonnet print Port for a network connection.

Note: ink pads in the printer collect, distribute and contain the ink that has not been used on the printed pages. During the lifespan of the product, his condition could deteriorate until harmful to the maintenance of an acceptable printing quality, or even the ink pads could reach the end of their useful lifespan. Epson Status Monitor, your ACL screen or the controls on the order panel will warn you if these parts should be replaced. If such a situation is present during the standard warranty of your product, replacing the product or ink pads are covered by the standard warranty. If the product is no longer under warranty, ink pads can be replaced by an authorized Epson technician. Worn ink pads are not parts that can be replaced by the user.
