100,000 electric charging stations open to the public

The government aims to reach 400,000 recharge points open to the public by 2030.

An electric car by train D

The government welcomes the installation of the 100,000th electric charging station on the national territory.

Helping the French to switch to the electric car is to allow them to recharge everywhere: thanks to state aid we have just exceeded 100,000 terminals in public space. By the end of the year, we will also offer electric cars at 100 euros per month.

  • Prime Minister

While in early 2022, France had less than 54,000 spaces for charging stations for electric vehicles, the first months of 2023 confirmed the unprecedented progression of installations of charging stations for electric vehicles.

Very high power terminals

From now on, France has nearly 14,500 high power terminals including 7,000 in ultra high power (greater than 150 kW), which allow recharging in less than 20 minutes.

The number of very high power terminals, 150 kW and more, has been multiplied by 2 since the beginning of 2023.

  • 100 million euros in the recovery plan facilitate the equipment of the service areas of major highways, with more than 2,500 recharged points already funded.
  • 300 million euros from France 2030 are dedicated to rapid charging stations in metropolitan and territories via A dedicated call for projects.

In addition to fast recharge, France has more than 1,400,000 recharging points throughout the territory by integrating private terminals into companies and individuals.

400,000 recharge points by 2030

Finally, the government aims to reach 400,000 recharge points open to the public by 2030.

To do this, it will bring together the actors of charging and electromobility next month to define a roadmap for the years to come.
