Except that we are not in the presence of an Arm SoC here, but a traditional X86-64 with much more pronounced heating. We therefore find, when it is pushed to its maximum, a disturbing temperature with a touch of 45 ° C at the front as at the back of the Dell XPS 13 2-in-1. Note that in ordinary use, you will not find these high temperatures, but they are possible.

So why did you integrate an Intel Core ? For its performance on short -sighted peaks, “bursts” as they are sometimes called. On uses with sustained performance, such as the rendering of a video or an intense graph, Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will not be your best ally. It’s a safe bet that the manufacturer is waiting for an ARM platform on Windows which really responds to its promises.

Still remains an advantage in Dell’s solution: absolute silence in any event, and perhaps less risk of mechanical failure without a fan under the hood.

Autonomy
