Six months. This is the average waiting period to obtain the delivery of a Dacia Spring. The fault of the component crisis, but also to high demand for the cheapest electric car on the market. Since October, this model has garnered 60,000 orders across Europe and 27,000 units have been delivered. Unsurprisingly, the most dynamic markets are those which attribute the highest purchase aids, such as Italy, Romania and France.

Made in China on the KWID model, a small thermal vehicle produced and marketed in India, China and Brazil by Renault, the Spring occupied in France first place in electric cars sales in January and the second in February , quite clearly ahead of the Renault Twingo Ze and Zoé. Since October, nearly 15,000 units have found takers there, mostly on the side of individuals. According to Dacia, the proof is made that an electric vehicle offered at an accessible price (from 12,900 euros, ecological bonus of 4,700 euros deduced) and intended for clearly defined uses (modest daily journeys) naturally find its place to the public.

Correct equipment

In fact, buyers mainly rely on the best equipped version and the average basket, a deduction bonus, revolves around 14,000 euros. This price is the result of trenched choice. Spring is a light car (970 kilos), with correct equipment (air conditioning, 7-inch touch screen) but not plethora (electric window lift without command by pulse, non-adjustable steering wheel, old-fashioned contact key). Under these conditions, it is satisfied with a small battery of 27.4 kWh which allows to pull the purchase price downwards and is enough to ensure limited autonomy (around 200 kilometers in mixed use) but sufficient for the use to which this car is intended.

With regard to its usual clientele of the thermal model market, Dacia is a slight over -representation of rural and peri -urban areas, and a lower proportion of city dwellers, but also an average age (around 52) slightly lower. “My Spring is the second car of the family and I am very satisfied with it, happy, Enthuses Benoît Pohu, who lives in the Orne, in rural areas. By combining the ecological bonus and the aids of the region, it cost me 10,500 euros and a full of electricity is billed barely more than 3 euros. Nothing comparable to a petrol model. »»
