Electric stations are on the rise at the moment. Particularly useful at the origin for nomads (van, motorhome, tent, etc.), they are also very useful at home, especially in the event of power cuts. And this is precisely what may happen this winter according to our “thinking heads” in the government. This undoubtedly explains the enthusiasm that these products arouse. Today I therefore suggest you discover the Bluetti AC200MAX, which promises to be particularly suitable for this type of use, by offering a power of 2200W and an autonomy of 2048WH ! Discovery of the Bluetti AC200MAX

The Bluetti AC200MAX arrived perfectly protected in a large well -circulated cardboard. Please note: this electric station weighs all the same 28kg (for dimensions of 42 cm x 28 cm x 38.7 cm). Take out your little arms 🙂 Inside, there is of course the electric station, accompanied by its charger and some accessories. There is indeed an adapter cable for cigarette lighter socket, but also an MC4 cable to connect solar panels directly ! No need to buy it optional, which is very significant. Two handles located on each side of the Bluetti AC200MAX allow you to move the device safely. And given its weight, they prove to be very practical ! On the sides, we can also notice two fans that help to cool it. The Bluetti AC200MAX is one of the rare power stations to have a color touch screen: The very clear display provides information on the station’s load and discharge activities. The hierarchical menu is well organized, providing easy access to settings, battery data newspapers and any alarm that could be triggered. The screen backlight remains on for 30 seconds before turning off. A sound signal, which can be deactivated, is emitted each pressure on the screen. These different options can be personalized. In terms of connection, it is also very complete. Four alternative sockets are available on the front panel and can produce a maximum of 2200W. Four 12V ports are also offered: two DC 5521 to load cameras or RC cars with a combined power of 120W, a cigarette lighter of 120W, and an output of 360W for various low-voltage devices such as a small refrigerator for example. Bluetti is also generous with the number of USB sockets, which consists of three groups covering different outing currents. A single port of 100W type-C capable of supplying devices such as laptops. Two 36W type-A and two-of-15W sockets are also present to load smaller devices such as phones or tablets. But that’s not all, since the Bluetti AC200MAX also has two wireless load surfaces on the top, a power of 15 W each. Quite rare on this type of product ! The entry sockets are present on the left side of the Bluetti AC200MAX, and include two battery extension ports, a CC 900W 145V port for solar load, and a CC 500W 58.8V input for the load from from the network via the CA block adapter. For a faster load, we can combine the load on the mains and a load via solar panels for example in parallel. But we can also use two charges in parallel (by purchasing an optional second charger) to go up to 1000w of charging. Interesting detail: as for all brand products, rubber sleeves cover all output sockets while inputs are protected by plastic caps. Perfect for a product that can be transported and can be exposed to water or dust. Here all the plugs are protected ! The underside is also protected by 4 rubber pads: Something that I appreciate on this Bluetti AC200max: all the electric outlets are at the front, on the same facade as the screen. The rear is devoid of any element, which will not pose a problem to pose it along a wall for example. The Bluetti AC200MAX comes with a large 500W charger, which will recharge it from 0 to 100% in about 5 hours: Regarding on -board technology, Bluetti was one of the first to adopt the type of LifePo4 battery in portable stations. With a number of extensive load cycles from 500 to 3500, this type of battery can offer on average nine years of useful life. It can sometimes go for a detail, but many competitors still offer batteries of old technologies, allowing 500 to 800 charges of loads. Suffice to say that the lifespan will not be the same ! Now let’s move on to use.

Bluetti AC200MAX: Use

The electric station lights up by pressing the only button to the left of the screen. The Ca and CC outputs are activated by two touch buttons at the bottom of the screen. The input and output power as well as the remaining battery load are displayed in a practical way: here I have for example a connected device for 101Wh, and a remaining 98% Bluetti autonomy. Four programmable buttons located on the left allow you to navigate to different submenus. You can choose to display settings, data, alarms or the home page. The menus are reactive and quite intuitive, despite menus in English (or in German, Bluetti being a German company). But the Bluetti AC200MAX can also be coupled with a mobile application. Bluetooth connection is indeed created automatically once the device is turned on. The mobile application can be used to activate remote outputs or to update the station’s firmware. Under ideal conditions, we can obtain a range of ten meters, which is reduced to five meters when updating the firmware. However, we remain a little on our end: there are much fewer features available in the application compared to what is provided on the electric station via the touch screen. It’s a bit of a shame, especially when the station is placed on the ground, which requires squatting to consult the screen and the functions. It would have been much more practical to be able to manage all this from your smartphone. Fortunately, most of the functions will not be modified very often, we therefore keep the essential functions on the smartphone: activation / deactivation of the sockets, monitoring of autonomy, checking the power power. As long as we approach the loading of the Bluetti AC200max: this one can be done in several ways. Most often, the 500 W sector adapter block will be used, which makes a load of about five hours. If this is too long, the power station can load with two entries in parallel. With a combined input power of 1400W, the charging time is then reduced to two hours. Like the Bluetti AC200MAX includes an MPPT solar charger with an input of up to 900W, it’s a great way to boost the load. The manufacturer of course offers its own solar panels, particularly useful for nomadic use, because they are foldable. But any photovoltaic panel can be used, since they use standard MC4 connectors. With the adapter supplied I was able without problem to connect my Sunology panel on the Bluetti to load it (I will talk about it in more detail very soon). You can also count on recharge by car (cigarette lighter), lead battery, generator, etc. In short, it is possible to recharge it in any 7 different ways.
