Today, on the occasion of its institutional press conference, Cupra confirmed the arrival of a new model that will change the perception of electric motorization vehicles. Since its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the Born concept has been praised for its sleek design and personality. But the design team was not based on its laurels and continued to develop the vehicle in order to give it an even more sporty character and an ever more impactful design. Thus was born the first entirely electric model of the brand: the Cupra Born.

This new model made in the Zwickau factory in Germany is perfectly written in the Cupra brand philosophy while perfectly corresponds to the profile of its customers.

Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Cupra said that “The Cupra Born shares all the brand’s genes. We have raised the original concept at a higher level by creating a new sporting and modern design and rethinking technological content. The Cupra Born is proof that performance and electrification go hand in hand ”.

The performances and dynamic characteristics have clearly been at the center of the development of the car which instantly accelerates from 0 to 50km/h in just 2.9s. In addition, the DCC Sport (Dynamic Chassis Control Sport) controlled suspension was developed exclusively for the Cupra Born on the basis of the MeB platform, associated with a sports driving height and a versatile system. The latter automatically adapts to all conditions in order to offer optimal dynamic behavior.

The Cupra Born has advanced technologies such as head -up with augmented reality. The car will be able to travel up to 500 km on a single load thanks to the efficiency of its 77 kWh battery (82 kWh gross). Thanks to its quick charging capacity, 30 minutes will be enough for the Cupra Born to take the road to at least 260 km.

The cabin is designed to embody Cupra philosophy: quality and performance Allied with sophistication: Sport bucklings, new steering wheel with selection buttons for driving profile and Cupra mode, as well as high quality materials. In addition to the attention paid to details and passion for quality, Cupra has also put particular emphasis on the sustainable development of Cupra Born using recycled materials inside the car.

Our electric cars allow you to travel hundreds of kilometers in a single recharge (the new Cupra Born has an autonomy of 548km*). So knowing that the average distance traveled by day by EU drivers is 60 km, the Cupra Born certainly does not need daily recharging. If you travel on average 60 km per day, you will need to recharge the Cupra Born every 9 days. And also, if you run in town, don’t forget that autonomy rises, so you will recharge it less frequently.
