This mechanics consumes just over 8 l/100 km on average according to our tests, but is forgotten and generates good performance, sufficient for a more family -friendly vocation machine.

On board, one could be destabilized by the presence of many pimples on the central console. But the whole remains practical and the Santa Fe takes advantage of very complete equipment.
In terms of habitability, background squares – not very comfortable due to too horizontal seats – remain occasionally usable by adults thanks to the second row bench, which slides on 12 cm. But the trunk is very small in 7 -seater configuration.

6th / Toyota Highlander

It is probably the toyota that we are talking about the least, in advertising as in magazines. But the Highlander, SUV in “US format” (4.97 meters long), remains a real family model with serious assets to seduce everyone, parents and children.
It is richly equipped and has many storage, but remains expensive: € 68,600 minimum (+ € 2,726 in penalty). Its second -line bench slide on 18 cm, in two parts, and folds down to release a good access to third place.
There, the roof guard turns out to be limited, but honest for adults of about 1.70 meters, while the leg space may be enough, depending on the position of the front row. The trunk seems gigantic and can still accommodate 268 liters of luggage when all the seats are busy.
At the wheel, the Highlander retains its family vocation; It is comfortable and prefers to be carried out calmly rather than a dynamic look. But its handling is still healthy, despite a substantial weight (2,015 kg).

Under the hood of this hybrid model with four-wheel drive, the association between 4-cylinder petrol 2.5 liters and the two electric motors develops a cumulative power of 248 hp, for very satisfactory performance.
We regret, however, that each acceleration is punctuated by the sound of the heat engine, seconded by transmission by enlighting train: the whole seems to be “grind” and amplifies the sound volume in the cabin.
And on the consumption side, no miracle: the big toyota, produced in the United States, absorbs almost 9 l/100 km on the highway, and flirts with the 8 l/100 km between town and secondary network.

Appeared in early 2019, the Tarraco has so far experienced a discreet career, with just over 4,000 units only sold in France since its launch (at the end of 2022).

The Spaniard, assembled in the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg, in Germany, has a neat but classic presentation, all in sobriety, with the added bonus of a modern multimedia system. However, the latter is a little complicated to use, despite personalization options.
This SUV is available in three levels of finish (Urban, Xperience, FR) in addition to a business version, reserved for professionals and only offered in diesel. With TDI (beware of the penalty), the mechanical range displays 150 or 200 hp, the most powerful of the two being systematically equipped with four -wheel drive and a DSG robotic transmission.

Relying on a technical basis shared with class A, launched in 2018, the GLB, produced in Mexico, therefore displays a “simple” traction architecture. This does not prevent it, however, from offering four -wheel drive with some of its engines.
Located in the Mercedes range between the Petit Gla and the most chic GLC, the “B”, extended over 4.63 meters, is distinguished with two additional places in the trunk. This is one of the only “premium” representatives, with the Land Rover Discovery Sport, to offer 7 places.

From a purely technical point of view, the new X-Trail is among the most interesting vehicles on the market. This is a hybrid model, the wheels of which are only trained by electric motors. What is it for its heat engine ? Just recharge the battery !
Driving is felt, with an appreciable sweetness and consumption really contained in urban areas. But it spoils on the fast tracks and on the highway, with more than 8 liters per 100 km on average according to our tests.
Pleasant to drive and sufficiently efficient, the Nissan, manufactured in Japan on a technical basis shared with the Qashqai, must have four -wheel drive when it displays 7 places.
But if the Japanese turns out to be habitable, its bottom squares, with retractable seats in the floor floor, are not very accessible and not spacious enough, despite a second row bench that slides on 21 cm.
They are only used for medium -sized teens (no more than 1.60 m) or in troubleshooting, for rather short journeys. Note also that the machine takes advantage of 40/20/40 fractional files in second row.

The presentation has its effect, with what is necessary of screens and equipment, in addition to a globally flattering quality of finish. 10th / Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace
