B & You, from mobile to ADSL

B & You is now present in the internet offers segment with an internet + unlimited telephony at € 15.99/month, while the bouygues telecom subsidiary has so far been limited to the mobile package segment.

Rapide back first: to anticipate or react to the arrival of Free on the mobile segment, the historic operators had created low cost subsidiaries: B & You for Bouygues Telecom, Sosh for Orange, or Red at SFR.

These brands offer mobile plans at reduced prices thanks to a reduced cost structure (more hard agencies, a “community” on the Internet that is responsible for answering users’ questions) and above all a different model: mobile packages without commitment, but no more grant to buy the mobile phone.

Suddenly, the majority of the mobile packages of these low cost operators no longer exceed twenty euros, and unlimited voices + SMS are available from € 9.99.

And to reduce its costs, the subsidiary relies on several elements: first its own ADSL network, then the postponement of the purchase of the box on the consumer, and the limitation to an internet + unlimited telephone formula, therefore more TV digital.

The user will therefore have to pay € 35 when subscribing to his line to buy his box, unlike other internet offers that offer either free provision or modem rental. Note that the box is currently charged € 1 instead of € 35 with the port fees offered.
