AMP on Google
AMP format is a web component structure that you can use to easily create websites, articles, emails and user ads on the user.
Understand the operation of AMP technology in search results
Google search indexes AMP pages to offer a quick and reliable web experience. When an AMP page is available, it can be presented in mobile search results in the form of enriched results and carousels. Even if the AMP format itself has no direct impact on your position in search results, speed is a decisive classification factor for Google search. Google research treats all pages in the same way, regardless of the technology used to create them. To discover the advantages related to the use of the AMP format, consult some examples of convincing use cases on the amp site.
When users select an AMP page, Google search collects it from Google Amp Cache. This approach implies various loading optimizations such as prensym, which often help to display these pages instantly. Currently, the AMP pages on computer are not broadcast from the AMP/Google Amp Cache player. The canonical AMP pages behave as standard results.
Initial display in search results
AMP pages may appear in Google search in the form of enriched results, just like other web pages. To help Google interpret your page more precisely, you can add structured data to it. Note however that we cannot guarantee that the addition of structured data will result in the display of an enriched result in Google search. For more information, refer to general instructions relating to structured data.
If you have double pages for identical content, place the same structured data on all these pages, not only on the canonical page. To find out more about the location, consult the general instructions relating to structured data.
AMP pages can also appear in the form of web stories. Find out how to activate web stories in Google search.
Once users click on AMP contents
When users click on your AMP content in Google search, it may appear in two ways:
- AMP Google player : The field of your content is displayed at the top of the AMP Google player to allow Internet users to identify who published the content in question.
- Signed exchange : technology that allows the browser to process a document as belonging to your origin.
About the AMP Google player
The AMP Google player is a hybrid environment in which you can collect data on the user within browsers compatible with the AMP Google player. The AMP Google player may appear when our systems determine that it can offer a useful user experience, especially in cases where the user will probably scroll the content. Google data collection is governed by its confidentiality rules. As a Pages AMP publisher whose content is displayed in the AMP Google player, you collect this data according to your confidentiality rules. Since you choose supplier behavior and integration in your AMP page, you are required to comply with the compliance obligations resulting from these choices.
About the signed exchange
A signed exchange allows you to use proprietary cookies to customize the content and measure the analyzes. Your page appears under your URL instead of the Google URL.com/amp . Google research gives priority to the links associated with the content in the form of an exchange signed in relation to the use of the AMP Google player in browsers compatible with the signed exchange. To offer users results in this format, you must publish the AMP content as a signed exchange, in addition to the standard AMP HTML format. Currently, the exchanges signed are only possible in Google research for enriched results and basic results, not for carousels. To find out more about the configuration of an exchange signed for AMP pages, see this page.
